Tutorial · Getting started
Foreverse in 10 Minutes
After installing the app, follow this guide once. Within 10 minutes you'll finish: set up a model -> import a book -> continue text for the first time -> import a character card and start chatting. The app has four bottom tabs: Worlds (library), Roleplay (character library),Agent, and Settings. We'll use them in that order.
Step 1 · Set up a model (pick one)
Path A · Bring your own key (BYOK, recommended): Settings -> AI Models & Services -> choose a provider, such as DeepSeek -> paste your API key -> tap "Test connection". If you see latency and a model list, it's ready. Any OpenAI / Anthropic-compatible endpoint can be added through "Add custom provider"; make sure the API URL includes the full version prefix, such as /v1.
Path B · Official channel: If you don't want to configure a key, sign in and use built-in models with pay-as-you-go billing (1 credit = $0.0001). You can switch to BYOK at any time later without affecting your data.
Finally, choose a default text model under "Default model configuration". Continue writing and chat use it by default.
Step 2 · Import a book
Worlds tab -> top-right "+" -> Local import -> choose a txt or epub file. TXT chapters are detected automatically; epub keeps the original table of contents. After import, the book appears in the library grid with an auto-generated cover. Tap it to read.
Step 3 · Continue text for the first time
On any paragraph, long-press and select text. The toolbar appears. Tap "Continue", describe in one sentence where you want the plot to go (or leave it blank), then tap "Start expand". AI text streams into the page with a light background so it stays separate from the original. The original text is not changed.
Not happy with it? The AI segment has an X in the top-left to delete it. "Edit and regenerate" on the right lets you revise the instruction and try again. At the end of a book, tap "Continue", and Foreverse also gives you 3 plot directions to choose from.
Step 4 · Import a character card and start chatting
Worlds tab -> "+" -> choose a character card file (PNG / JSON / .charx all work). After import, open the card from the library or Roleplay tab -> "Start chat". The card's greeting, worldbook, and regex scripts all take effect automatically. The "+" panel above the input has 12 actions, including continue, regenerate, image generation, and read aloud.
