Common questions
Is my API key ever uploaded?
No. Keys are AES-encrypted in on-device secure storage and requests go directly to the provider — Foreverse servers never touch your key.
How do I know a model actually works?
Every provider page has a Test button that probes the upstream directly, with distinct results for connected / invalid key / wrong host path / unreachable. Model lists support bulk-import from the provider, manual adds and removal, and default models are set per slot across text / vision / image / voice / video / embedding.
Can I use it without my own keys?
Where the official metered channel is available: built-in models bill per use (1 credit = $0.0001), and you can start official then switch to BYOK with your data intact. In builds/regions without it, bring your own key first.
