Companion

You close the book.
They keep waiting for you.

Elsewhere, AI characters live inside a chat box and their memory evaporates by the day. A Foreverse companion has a home: long-term memory you can inspect line by line, anniversaries they remember first — and once you enable proactive messages, the late-night check-in comes from them, sometimes with a selfie, drawn from the same visual identity they wear in the book's illustrations and on the theater stage.

Split bubbles, a temper, and the right to refuse

Messages arrive in human rhythm — typing dots, read receipts, split delivery. Send a money transfer and they handle it in character: the tsundere returns it on the spot, then adds one stubbornly caring line. The card changes state inside the chat; it isn't a sticker.

Memory, anniversaries, moment cards — it all stays

From a character card, to a character card

A companion isn't a shell built from nothing. A character you met in a novel, a card you clicked with in the tavern — one tap on "Make companion" and they move in, carrying the full persona and avatar, ready to start remembering your days together.

It works the other way too: export a companion as a standard character card and choose which memories travel with it — they become the card's lorebook. A card carrying your shared history can start new chats, join groups, or be given to a friend, where the story grows new branches on someone else's phone.

FAQ

Common questions

How does companion memory work?

Important facts from conversations are extracted into the companion's memory vault, kept long-term and injected consistently into every chat. Each memory is viewable, editable, and deletable — if something is wrong, you fix the record directly.

Will a companion message me first?

They can. Proactive messages are off by default; enable them on the companion's profile and they'll reach out at the right moments — late-night check-ins, bad-weather concern, anniversary greetings. Frequency and quiet hours are adjustable, and you can turn it off anytime.

How do companions relate to character cards?

Both directions work. Any character card can be promoted to a companion with its full persona; a companion can be exported back to a standard card, with selected memories becoming the card's lorebook — ready for new chats, groups, or sharing.

Where is my companion data stored?

On your phone. Conversations, the memory vault, the album, and anniversaries live as local files and migrate as one export package. When AI is called, only that turn's context goes to the provider you chose.
