Turn on proactive messages and a Foreverse companion will sometimes open the conversation: a late-night check-in, a word on the morning of the interview you mentioned, a reaction to the weather turning over your city. Every first message is generated from your chats and the memory they left behind. It ships off by default, and you set the pace.

What makes a first message possible?
Three parts: memory that persists in files on your phone, triggers that come from facts in the relationship, and controls that keep the whole behavior yours.

A first message starts from something real: the anniversary you set, the rough week you described, rain arriving in the city you named. Nothing worth saying, nothing sent.
Controls stay with you.
Proactive messages are off until you enable them. Frequency has settings, quiet hours hold, and a master switch ends it all at once. Off means off; no backlog arrives later.
Scheduled vs remembered
How is this different from scheduled push notifications?
Most companion apps re-engage on a timer: quiet for two days, so a “thinking of you” lands at 8 p.m., the same line for everyone in the segment. A Foreverse first message is generated for one person from that person's own history — and silence is an accepted outcome.

Will it spam me?
No. Proactive messages ship disabled. When you enable them, frequency is capped by settings you choose, quiet hours block late-night sends, and silence is an accepted outcome — a companion with nothing to say sends nothing. If it still feels chatty, one switch turns it all off.
How do I turn it off?
Open the companion's profile and flip the proactive-messages switch. Off means off: nothing queues up to arrive later. You can also keep the feature on and just tighten quiet hours or lower the frequency.
Where is the memory stored?
In files on your phone, not on our servers. The app shows the memory list line by line; you can read, edit, or delete any entry. Companion data exports as a portable package, and deleting the companion deletes the memory with them.
Does it work on iPhone?
Android is live on Google Play. iOS is in beta — leave an email on the waitlist and we send one short note when the next wave opens. On both platforms, companion data stays on the device.
What else can a companion do besides texting first?
Inside the chat they handle transfers, gifts, and location shares in character — accepting or returning them the way their persona would. Photos and selfies are a separate opt-in with a cost confirmation when you enable it and a daily cap. Personality and roleplay style are adjustable presets.
