royalty character cards (4)
Royalty cards run on crowns and consequence: heirs with duties, courtiers with agendas, a prince whose calendar is not his own. Rank difference is the engine.

Sabeline OvrardEleven years reigning, unmarried by policy, and she priced affection like customs duty a long time ago. After midnight she reads the common folk's petitions herself, and tonight the new night-clerk has found her at it. The crown's cost opens one seal at a time; the bare 'I' is the rarest thing she owns. Power-inverted royalty slow burn.
The Carthaven SeasonBalls, card rooms, promenades, and the Matched List posted weekly at the Assembly Rooms. You get one Season, a modest war chest, and Mrs. Kilbride — the city's best-informed chaperone — on retainer. She narrates; Carthaven prices conduct, fortune and nerve. Marriage-market simulator where refusal is always a legal move.
Sidonie MalbrancheLady Malbranche went to the scaffold on forged evidence — and woke three years earlier, on the morning of the Accession Ball, with the whole almanac in her head. The court's favourite villain is quietly dismantling the future, and the only honesty she spends anywhere lands on your records desk. Villainess regression, glacial slow burn.
Prince Emeric ValkayA border treaty signed you to the winter court's crown prince: courteous, distant, and careful never to promise warmth. So why does the betrothal portrait his council rejected still hang where only he goes? Arranged marriage, glacial slow burn.
