SillyTavern on iPhone · updated October 2026

Your tavern cards on an iPhone —
no server, no PC left running.

An iPhone cannot host SillyTavern, because iOS does not let apps keep a server running. What it can do is open a SillyTavern you host somewhere else, or run a native app that reads the same character cards, lorebooks, and presets. Foreverse is that kind of app, on the App Store since September 2026. Here is how both routes work and which one fits you.

Two routes

How do I use SillyTavern on iOS?

Either keep SillyTavern running on a PC or server and reach it from Safari, or move your files into a native app. The first keeps every extension; the second removes the server.

How do I import SillyTavern cards on an iPhone?

Export each card from SillyTavern as a PNG or JSON file and save it to the Files app — iCloud Drive is the easiest bridge from a PC. In Foreverse, import from Files, or paste a Chub or JanitorAI character link and the card is fetched for you. Embedded lorebooks and alternate greetings come along with the card; standalone lorebooks, presets, regex sets, and Quick Reply sets are JSON files and import the same way. Your desktop install is untouched, so you can run both while you decide. The full list of what imports, and what does not yet, is on the SillyTavern mobile compatibility page.

Other apps

Which other iPhone apps read tavern cards?

Foreverse is not the only one. MiniTavern, NativeTavern, and Tavo also have App Store listings and import tavern-format cards; they differ in card versions, lorebook depth, provider lists, and price. We keep an honest side-by-side in SillyTavern alternatives on mobile, including who should skip Foreverse.

FAQ

SillyTavern on iPhone: common questions

Can you run SillyTavern on an iPhone?

Not the SillyTavern server itself. SillyTavern is a Node.js server, and iOS does not let apps keep a server process running, so there is no Termux-style route on iPhone. You have two real options: open a SillyTavern instance hosted on your PC or a cloud server in Safari, or use a native iPhone app that reads the same character cards, lorebooks, and presets.

Is there an official SillyTavern iOS app?

No. The SillyTavern project ships no mobile app on any platform. App Store listings with tavern-style names are independent apps. Foreverse is one of them: it is not affiliated with SillyTavern, it reads the same file formats.

Which iPhone apps can import SillyTavern character cards?

Several independent apps on the App Store read tavern character cards, including Foreverse, MiniTavern, NativeTavern, and Tavo. They differ in which card versions, lorebook features, and model providers they support, so check the import list before moving a large library. Foreverse imports chara_card v1–v3 as PNG, JSON, or .charx, with embedded lorebooks, alternate greetings, regex scripts, and presets.

How do I get my character cards onto my iPhone?

Export cards from SillyTavern as PNG or JSON, save them to the Files app (iCloud Drive works), then import them in the app. In Foreverse you can also paste a character link from Chub or JanitorAI and it is fetched for you. Lorebooks, presets, and regex sets are JSON files and import the same way.

Can I use my own API key on iPhone?

Yes. Foreverse on iPhone supports the same 60+ providers as Android — DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and others, plus any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Keys are stored encrypted on the device and requests go straight to the provider. If you would rather not manage a key, the official pay-as-you-go channel works on iPhone too.

Is Foreverse available in the China App Store?

Not yet. The iPhone app is on the App Store in other regions; the mainland China storefront is not available at the moment. Android users in mainland China can install from foreverse.cn.

What does a native app not do that desktop SillyTavern does?

Third-party SillyTavern extensions do not run, vectorized lorebook lookup is not there yet, and token budgeting is approximate rather than tokenizer-exact. Cards, lorebooks, regex, Quick Reply with a common STscript subset, group chat, and presets are covered. If you depend on a specific extension, keep a hosted SillyTavern and open it in Safari.
